Information
The St. Augustine Wild Reserve offers tours on an appointment-only basis. We are not open to the public on a drop-in basis like the Jacksonville Zoo, however, we offer tours once or twice weekly by appointment only. Tours are guided by an experienced wildlife professional, so advanced reservations must be made by phone (904) 940-0664 or e-mail, at chufff@aol.com as far in advance as possible . Tours are held in the afternoon, giving us time to complete all animal husbandry before guests arrive. Donations are $25 per person and $15 for children of age ten and under. Donations go towards the care of the animals at the reserve. The St. Augustine Wild Reserve is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Guests will be given a guided tour of the 7-acre animal compound by an experienced wildlife professional. An introduction to each species, basic biology, and how the animal arrived at our sanctuary will be discussed in detail. Visitors will be allowed close interactions with many exotics. Also on the tour will be our amazing white tiger, Angel, several orange tigers, cougars, caracals, servals, bobcats, coatimundis, and a host of wolves ranging in color from black to white. Also, guests will meet Onyx, our beloved black leopard who survived cancer, losing a leg in the process. Onyx became famous when Ripley’s Believe it or Not dubbed her the most unusual animal with a tale to tell, featuring her on their national television show. Please come visit us for the experience of a lifetime! Due to the fact that our animals are in secure cages, which precludes the taking of clear photographs, we no longer allow photos at the Reserve. This includes cell phone photos and video cameras. Instead, we will be offering a CD at the end of the tour which has nearly 200 beautiful, cage-free photos of all of the animals that you will meet at the Reserve.
